Knuckeys’ two latest released products, the Air Seeder and Precision Sowing System, have received wide-spread attention from farmers across Australia, as well as globally. The Knuckey Precision Sowing System earned the title of The Australian Agricultural Machine of the Year at the 2019 Elmore Machinery Field Days.
The Knuckey Southern Seeder Accu Sow is engineered to enhance farming efficiency with its adaptable and robust design. It features various widths and tine layouts, allowing customisation to meet specific farming needs. The seeder’s low transport height facilitates easy travel and storage.
Despite its sturdy build, it maintains a compact transport width of 5.4 metres, which can be reduced to approximately 4.7 metres for effortless transport. The frame is designed with six rungs to optimise trash flow, ensuring unimpeded operation in heavy stubble loads. Durability is boosted with a high capacity ten stud hub and stub axle systems, and strategically placed wheels outside the toolbar to maximise trash flow.
The MAW2 Sowing System represents the pinnacle of over 25 years of dedicated experience in designing advanced sowing systems. Unique to the MAW2 is the increased spacing between the primary tyne and the sowing tyne, a design innovation that allows the soil to settle adequately before seeds are deposited at the desired depth. This spacing is particularly beneficial in fields with heavy trash loads, as it eliminates the pinch points that often occur in other systems where these components are closer together.
The system features a hydraulic primary tyne with adjustable breakout force, and seed placement precision is maintained by a large 450mm diameter press wheel. Additionally, adjustments to front tyne depth, packing pressure, and seed depth can be easily made to meet specific agricultural needs, enhancing both versatility and efficiency in planting operations.
The Knuckey RP2 Sowing System is designed for seamless integration with both new and existing bars, enhancing precision seeding capabilities. This system ensures precise control over seed depth and effective soil compaction around the seed, which are critical for optimal germination. The Knuckey Tandem Press Wheel Assemblies are expertly crafted for use with Air Seeders, Combines, and Power Harrows, enhancing seed-soil contact to boost germination rates. These assemblies are mounted directly at the rear of the machine, featuring an extra-long walking beam that ensures superior ground-following capabilities.
